Therapeutic Process

What kinds of difficulties can counselling help with?

Counselling may offer support in situations such as:

> anxiety and panic attacks
> depression
> chronic stress
> relationship difficulties
> trauma
> low self-esteem
> cultural adaptation
> persistent emotional difficulties

Each intervention is personalised according to the person's history and therapeutic goals.

How do I know whether therapy is right for me?

If you are experiencing a state of emotional distress that persists, affects your relationships, or impacts your professional functioning, counselling may represent a helpful step.

How does the counselling process begin?

The therapeutic process begins with a structured initial framework of a minimum of 4 sessions.

This interval allows for:

> a more in-depth assessment of the personal context
> identification of emotional and behavioural patterns
> clarification of therapeutic goals
> establishment of the direction of intervention

Counselling is a process, not a one-off intervention. The first sessions have a foundational role, not an immediate problem-solving function.

What happens during the first 4 sessions?

The first sessions are dedicated to:

> exploring relevant personal history
> identifying triggering and maintaining factors
> risk assessment (where applicable)
> initial formulation of the case
> setting realistic therapeutic goals

The approach is structured, but adapted to individual needs.

Why is a minimum of 4 sessions necessary?

Responsible psychological interventions require:

> thorough assessment
> building the therapeutic relationship
> understanding the complexity of the situation

A single session does not provide a sufficient framework for a professionally valid intervention.

What happens after the first 4 sessions?

After the initial stage, the following are established together:

> continuation of the process
> frequency of sessions
> priority goals

The process remains flexible, but structured.
